inspired by this music: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooyeEl…like on the mortal world, evenin the kingdom of Oz there was the celebration of the New Year, the Wonderful Wizard amazed and fascinated all the guests and the princess Ozma with his magic, and the joy filled the emerald castle,
but there was even someone who appreciated the tranquility and the solitude, Nick Chopper take some moment alone for glance outside a window, admiring the Emerald City covered by the snow...
what he didn't expect was that someone this time followed him, Dorothy Gale, now princess of Oz, usually was the very life of the party, dancing and join to every game with her friends, but this time she followed the tin emperor of the East, she sweetly smiled as she sat next to him.
the velvet heart inside the chest of Nick make a throb, forcing the tin man to hold a hand on it: he always enjoyed the presence of Dorothy, since she was back in Oz with her uncles, and secretly he knew why his heart tingled in such way when she was near him, or simply touch him.
One thing that he loved more of her was her spontaneity and simplicity of country girl that she never lost, despite her role of princess, and she has never hesitated to do the most menial jobs and did her best to help everyone around her.
Nick trust her, and only her -besides his friends the Scarecrow and the Lion- decided one day to give her his most precious gift, the key to his heart, his very meaning of exsistence.
It was fair after all, if he could think like his best friend Scarecrow, Dorothy was the one that allowed him to conquer a heart, and it was fair she could open his chest; but from his heart the answer was different..
The tin man slowly unbuttoned his jacket and placed it on the sofa
"Dorothy.. my heart.." he whisper, into his eyes a need that Dorothy understand, smiling
"sure Nick, let me help you" she answered, her soft fingers unbuttoned his shirt, gently open it and exposing his strong, tin chest, then she slips from her neck the golden key she always carried around, and with a click she opened the round hole, carefully take his throbbing, velvet heart into her hand
"oh my, the string need to be fixed, no worry for that" then, Dorothy took the pincushion with some golden string, and preparing a pin, began to sew gently around the small fissures that was opened by the strong beats of Nick's heart.
Dorothy never forgotten how to sew, and this was helpful to Nick, but the tin man wasn't caring of it right now, his eyes continue to look at the girl who once gave him that heart, and now, in some way, stole it from him.
I wanted to make a piece of my fav pairing of Oz, and what a good occation
with this Happy New Year everyone!
